Looks quite interesting, I like the trailer...
Looks intriguing for sure and I like the cast and writer/director.
Guarded High Hopes
A very interesting trailer with what appears to be a strong cast. It felt ambiguous to me, which is a good thing, so this further strengthens my curiosity.
That made no sense to me. Left with a big HUH?
As is exactly what a trailer should do, spoil nothing and leave you with a big huh? Too many trailers now just give away the majority of the film and ruins it.
Agreed, I've been saying that for a long time. But, I think a trailer should also make me want to see the movie, and that one did not.
This is on my short watch list now that it is out for home video. Any others want to chime in since October?
Anyone see it?
RT Score isn't terrible(?)
I watched it about a month ago. It’s disturbing, creepy, and horrifying (all good things) but the best compliment is that it’s unabashedly a hard science fiction movie and that deserves a standing O.
I actually saw "Annihilation" in the theater. I liked it. Some of the video was pretty trippy.
It's in our Netflix queue, we just haven't gotten to it yet.
How's that? I go to Netflix and it doesn't come up under search(?)
Picked it up from RedBox and watched last night. Solid Sci-Fi, with a bit of horror. Slow at times, but I felt it was supposed to be, conveying the situation the characters are in. I'm going to get the disc for my collection.
Oops, looks like the wrong Annihilation.
I ended up seeing this several months back. It was OK. The visuals were fantastic if not unsettling. The plot left a bit to be desired. I'm OK with ambiguous story lines. This was more than just ambiguous, it was frustrating at times. It felt like a less well done shot at an Arrival type concept.
Thanks or that. I love LFTS and that was a good reminder of the film. I think ultimately there were too many horror elements for me now that I look back. It wansn't bad and I appreciated what was being attempted but it missed for me is all.
Yes, I wouldn’t recommend it if you aren’t into horror. Some of the set designs reminded me of “The Last of Us" video game (great game with a superbly written and acted story)
