I still have my Paradigm CC-350, I'm needing to put it on top of an electric fireplace furniture thingy.
a 55" plasma has to go above it. What would this little box be called that I'm trying to describe that would stradle the CC-350 and support the plasma??

dwelling is an apartment = probably no wall mount.
I am exploring attaching a wall mount to a mast on the back of the electric fireplace though, raising the display just high enough to clear the cc.

Bent, I have seen a number of units with the mast still mount as you are describing. That can be done. The plasma support thing your are describing would be something I would fab up for myself. That could be done too. I would over build it, spend way too much time and money on material doing it. I would just call it a riser, that would also fit the center channel.

Punching holes in an apartment wall only means patching and painting when you move. There are floor stands available for large screen monitors.
