Nope. Be careful of analysis paralysis. Still a good product. MIX magazine did s nice review from a “procumer” perspective.

I had some anxiety about this with my GoldenEars an they're only partially active, no other electronics. But nothing lasts forever and you're buying from a company that will still be around for future repairs.

Oh those look good. I like the fact that the three-way powered. I wish they had some DSP,digital processing going on. I wish Kef would do a three-way just like Elac has done, a three-way like that would be killer

The write-up on the Elacs is nice, but there is not a lot of info out there that I can find.

Just asked Elac on their FB page and they (quickly) responded late 3rd- early 4th Qtr 2018. Should have checked that before the tease.... Sorry Chris. They do look quite nice.

They look nice, but are going to cost more then the kef, they have airplay but not aptx. They also look like they are really supposed to be used with the Elac streamer.

Yeah, I read about Golden Ear on their forum. Coming soon. I'm really curious who will be first with full range speaker in this class. Goldenear is halfway there.

Elac this year, depending on how low counts as full range I guess.

As close to 20hz as possible. My Tritons will legit do 20hz at reasonable volumes. I've verified with REW.

Nice to hear a golden ear owner say the low end is legit. Few places online say otherwise.

No, they're referring to the claimed specs which are still ridiculous. Sandy says the T1s go to 12Hz. To me its a huge shame that Sandy felt the need to publish specs like that when the speakers are so legitimately good.

Yeap that is what I am referring to, I am sure they are great speakers, but these claims seem to cast a bit of a shadow over Golden Ear.

That doesn't change the fact that they are nearly flat to 20Hz. Just stupid to claim 12Hz.

Agree 100% it you say they are flat to 20, then they are flat to 20 no doubt.

They probably do go to 12 Hz, just 30 dB down.

I don't think I can do it, too many people think this LS50W is just not ready for prime time. I think I might be better served by unpowered LS50s, maybe an emotiva stereo amp and some kind of network streamer. It will cost more, but I think the user interface will be better. Easy and reliable to use makes me happy. So LS50s, a stereo amp new or used, and some kind of streamer/preamp thing is wher I think I will end up. I think Cambridge Audio makes a decent one and even has aptX, I suspect it is pricey locally.
