This looks terrible...I hate to say it...but nope.
Ok saw this this weekend. My kid wanted too and from what I had seen and heard I did not.
How do you write a Venom origin movie with out Spider-Man?
Well I don’t usually like Tom Hardy and that factored in my wanting to pass on this but it turned out not nearly as bad as I expected. Don’t take that to mean I said it was good, it just wasn’t awful and most of that had to do with Hardy. He made the best of it and it was shall I say fun in parts. I did not regret seeing this movie like I thought I would.
I'm going to pass on this one. I can't understand how Marvel continues to get it so right and almost everyone else gets it so wrong.
As Max stated, how do you write an origin movie without Spiderman? With that said, the box office success of Venom will produce a Sequel. Plus, Sony can relinquish the rights to Spider-man and remove the "Marvel" aspect of the current universe, and thus making another "Amazing Spider-man" .......no comment.
Thanks for the input Max...this will definitely be an at home watch...the trailer doesn't interest me in any way.
Got a free rental from Redbox and watched this with my son last night. and both of us enjoyed it, I did question the non Spider-Man origen, but I think they made it work pretty well.
P.S. CJ, maybe merge this one in here(?)
I watched this a few days ago. I think because my expectations were so low I enjoyed it more. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible either. My biggest complaint I heard echoed elsewhere is clearly it got monkeyed with by the studio and was rewritten and edited by committee. Lots of loose threads.
Agreed. It was better than Aquaman.
