I guess there was not a lot of energy around the series on the forum since I didn't see a thread, but allow me to say CONGRATS to the Boston Red Sox, and as a die-hard SF Giants fan, to post this:

Yea. I texted Shane early, but I've left him alone since the drubbing. :frowning:

Just a couple of days ago....

I fell asleep at midnight only to wake at 2:45 TTT*. I turned on the tube to see who won only to watch until 3:30 when Muncy hit his home run.

    *TTT is Trump Tweet Time

The Red Sox were clearly the better team. Congrats.

I can't not check in here. Watching my hometeam this year has been a remarkable experience. A new, solid and admirable Manager; a crew of level-headed, no-drama teammates; a player exorcizing his wretched playoffs past; journeymen players winning MVP accolades all year long...what's not to feel good about? GO SOX!

Too busy celebrating to post something!! Rooting for the Patriots winning the Super bowl. Love to see a Boston sweep of baseball, football, basketball and hockey in one season! Think they came close winning three never all four.

Dodgers, Raiders, it's not safe to be an opposing fan in some stadiums.

    On a related baseball note.
Willie “stretch” McCovey has passed at 80.
One helluva player from a era of baseball that was spectacular.

There was a time when boys wanted to be baseball players. Seems like it is out of favor with today's kids. Two brothers and a third kid from 'hood went to college to play Lacrosse. What surprised me most they were not thinking of an eventual career path. Parents of the two brothers are both teachers father HS Physics and mother middle school. The kids parents are both Ph.D. Biochemists.

When I was a kid an older cousin took me to a ball game in St Louis between the Cardinals and the Giants. We sat in the bleachers. I ended up with a home run ball that had been hit by Willie McCovey, turning me into an instant SF Giants fan, which continues to this day. R.I.P. Stretch #44.
